Stress

I can't believe I leave in 3 days.
I'm stressing so much, do you have any idea how much shit I brought with me here?
I haven't begun to pack and I don't know how I'm going too.
I don't know how I'm going to find my way to the airport or how to find my gate YOLO.
Theres so much stuff I want to do before I leave. I can't handle thisss.

Also yesterday I went to hung dae for the last time. I ate oodle noodle for the last time. I ate Ben's cookies for the last time. It was so depressing, I hate knowing I'll probably never come here again, and all the friends I made and all the places I've gotten so used to are going to be gone forever.

And heres a story for you:
last night at 3am Borja had a nightmare that someone came into the apartment with a smoke bomb. He thought it was real so he woke-up, ran into the living room and started screaming in spanish and throwing shoes everywhere it was incredibly scary. So I texted him and asked what happened and it was really funny :')

Idk

Sorry not sorry for blogging recently.

Today we went to a casting for a tampon advertisement. Which basically sums up my day.

We all started out the day by playing my favorite game. It's called 'Brain-messed-up-the-schedule-again-so-wakeup-at-7:00am-and-get-ready-as-fast-as-humanly-possible-you-have-a-casting-in-five-minutes'
I've gotten quite good at it.

In other news, we have a new roommate. His name is Giannis, and he's from Greece.
Bambi (Polish gal) Left because korea wasn't a good fit for her and she wanted to leave.
Christina (Spain gal) also left for the same reason.
They were both great and I miss them a ton.
Both Madi and Laura (The Australians) left because their contracts were up. I miss them soo much and it's not the same without them.
They were both crazy and you could never be bored with them.
They are two of the greatest people I've ever met, they are the big sisters I never had. And I will more than likely never see them again in my life. And it sucks.

Sorry not to depress anyone.

Currently I am the only one in the apartment who speaks fluent english and conversations get really. really confusing.
It's actually hilarious because it's usually Borja trying to tell us something, and we're all trying to understand, but then he just gets frustrated and ends up yelling in spanish or saying something un related.
Borja is like the common white girl of the group. He takes soo long to get ready, we always wait for him. He takes mirror selfies everyday. Or just selfies all the time. And he's not ashamed.
Follow him on instagram it's super entertaining.
"Borjansancho"
He always complains about his hair and ohmygod he's so funny. I know what you're thinking. No, he's not gay;) He's actually extremely macho its confusing but he makes it work.

As far as work, jobs have been slowing down. But I have one on thursday for yoga active wear.

I'M REALLY EXCITED TO COME HOME I GET HOME AUGUST 29TH BUT IF YOU FORGET THATS OKAY BECAUSE I'LL BE TWEETING ABOUT HOW HAPPY I AM ONCE I'M HOME SO YOU'LL KNOW

Wow I miss mac and cheese so fucking much.

I have a feeling that once I'm home and reunite with everyone I'm going to wish I was back here though...
Idk lately its been really up and down. Sometimes I wish more than anything to be home, and I don't like it here and I feel crappy. And others the thought of home stresses me out and I'm have a ton of fun here.

Sorry this post was kinda all over the place.
PS, to all the people who said they would write me letters and didn't... I see you. Don't think I don't.

Questions(:

"If you get to model in another country again, where would you like it to be?"
Anywhere is Europe would be a dreammm.
But Japan or Thailand is more realistic. Which would also be awesome.

"Who is your favorite person in your apartment?
Gotta go with my australians<3 Laura and Madi.
They're like the big sisters I always wanted.
I was also pretty close with Claire (French girl) But she left:(

"What do you miss most about Minnesota, not including the people?"
Seeing houses. There are no houses here. I have not seen a single house. not ONE.
Everyone lives in apartments.
I miss seeing lakes too. The only pretty thing about korea is the mountians.
Theres no nature and I'll come back so much more appreciative of what a beautiful place I live in
I miss apples. They're so expensive here I can't be bothered buying them.
I miss being able to find food wherever I go.
I miss not having to pay for a taxi or take a subway wherever I go.
I could go on forever.

"Show us pictures of your new clothes!"
Too. much. effort.
You'll see when I get back;)
I haven't gotta that much because by the end of the week, I'm broke.

"What do you do for fun in Korea?"
The shit that goes on in this apartment... You have no idea.
Haha we take the subway to Hung Dae a lot. My favorite place for shopping and food. We also go to green street a lot, which has a ton of great coffee shops and american stores like H&M or forever 21.
We go out for sushi or just walk around or go to the gym idk. We have popcorn parties a lot.

"What has been the best thing about Korea so far?"
I'm changing this to the coolest thing.
One of the coolest things has probably been being treated like a celebrity.
People ask me to take pictures with them and everyone just stares at you like you're god. Everywhere you go. All the time. People find random excuses to talk to you, some strangers just flat-out say "I want to be your friend" It's just so weird.
They don't stare because we're models. They stare because we have the facial characteristics they strive for. 1 in 5 korean woman have gotten some type of plastic surgery to look more like a westerner.
Korea is the plastic surgery capital of the world. You can tell just by looking who has gotten surgery. Double Eye Lids is when they cut their eye lids open to give them a crease, making their eyes bigger and rounder.
Nose jobs for koreans are to make the nose pointy.
They get face work done to make their faces narrower and chins more pointy.
Sorry I'm getting off track, but I'm just saying, they don't stare because we're actually famous or anything.

Did your mom support you and help you find agencies or was she skeptical of modeling?

My mom was and still is fully supportive.
I mean, I guess I didn't really want to model. I wanted to dance and sing and act and stuff. Modeling can be a back route to auditions for those things. I also figured modeling was a step in the right direction.
But either way I wanted it and my mom helped me make it happen.
Theres nothing dangerous or sketchy about modeling as long and you don't agree to model for an old man in his basement.
And if you get with an agency, its not like BAM you're getting a ton of jobs and its a big deal.
I mean... its minnesota. You'll get like a job a month. If that.
It's not a big deal I think its kinda crazy when parents freak out about their kid being photographed. No one is taking advantage of you.

"Does your agency pay for your tests shoots, portfolio, comp cards, travel, etc?"

My korean agency paid for my travel here.
Otherwise no. Your agency can get you some free test shoots but you'll need to pay for headshots portfolio and compcards.

"How much do you get paid?"

Depends on the job.
Idk
lowest paying jobs are like $350 in korea.
In mlps the lowest paying job I had was like $80

"Tips for people who want to become a model?"

A lot of people facebook message me with this question. Even strangers. So I'm just gonna go at it.

1.) Being a model isn't a career choice, so if you want to model, make sure you want it for the right reasons.
2.) Realize that it is work. It's not all fun. Be prepared to invest in it. You need money for headshots and heels and things like that.
3.) If you want to get with an agency, just do it. Stop putting it off and waiting and wondering, just do it. Find an agency online, and send some pictures in. They don't need to be professional, the agency just wants  to see what you look like. Heres a good example of shots to send in.

4.) You need confidence, or to be good at faking confidence. You have to be that super friendly bubbly giggly ready for anything adorable person. Not in real life, just when your at a test shoot or a job or around your agency
5.) Be realistic. If you're 5'5 you should wait until you're taller. If you try an agency and they don't accept you, try another, try every agency you can find. If you don't get one, it doesn't mean you're not pretty or somethings wrong with you. You just don't have the right look. And its nbd ja feel?
6.) Get ready to feel awkward. The first time you have a test shoot you're going to feel awkward but the most experience you have the better you'll get.
7.) Please for the love of god don't be cocky. Just don't be that person. No one likes that person. Getting with an agency doesn't mean you're a model. I've only been modeling for a year. I barley consider myself a model.
8.) Don't get discouraged.

Obviously I'm not a pro and these are by no means any official guidelines. These are basically just the things I would have told myself before I got with my agency. (:

"What are some new things that you have tried in Korea? food, stores, etc"

Well new stuff is everywherree.
The only food brand I've recognized from america is pringles. Ya know like the chips.
They have pringles.
Otherwise everything is new. I've tried a lot of new seafood and its all super good.
I ride the subway a lot here. That's new.
I've gotten over my fear of riding elevators by myself. That's new.

For stores, they have forever 21 and H&M and big stores like that. But they have sooo many amazing stores here that I've never seen before. Or even stores that don't have names. Just ones in hung dae that sell stuff on the street.
They have so many good shopping places here its crazy.
Basically everything is new so its a pretty broad questions haha(:

"How early do you have to get up most days in korea?"

If I have a job? It can be anytime from 6am too 12:00 noon.
It's usually 7am.

If I have castings, its never earlier than 7am. Usually like 8 or 9.

"Was it hard to get signed with your agencies?"

No, everything is super straight forward in the modeling industry.
For my mlps agency (ignite) I just found they're website, sent pictures in, they called me for an interview, they offered me a contract. All in the same 3 days.

For my korean agency (MDI), I still don't really know how they found me.
I sure as hell didn't go looking for agencies in korea haha. They just found me on the Ignite website and  offered me a contract. I guess you could say I was scouted?

"Whats your favorite modeling job you've done?"

Haha probably one I did here for outer-wear, because they put this harness on me and I was flying and pretending to climb a mountain it was hilarious. Plus the hair and makeup ladies were so sweet.

My goal is to get a bridal job while I'm here. We have a lot of castings for them and it would be so fun to wear all these amazing wedding dresses.

What are modeling jobs you have done? (MN and Korea)

Oh boy hmm
In minnesota I've done a lot of hair salon advertising stuff. I did some look book things for a fashion designer which was cool. Idk I forget about minnesota jobs.
OH AND THE FARMER JOB OF COURSE. lol and the christmas ones for istock.
I have a runway show for Aveda when I get back which I'm super excited for.

In korea all the jobs blur together. Seriously they're all the same.
I can't list brands because they're all in korean but I've done catalogues and online shopping sites and stuff like that. Look book stuff. Like I listed before golf, electronics, fashion, fur wear, athletic wear, LOL i did this really terrible nurse like first aid kit thing where I wore scrubs it was a party.

I've done a lot more jobs in korea than I did in minnesota.

"How's mama susan?"

Aww:')
Mamma susan is good! Someone should check on her.
She said she's a tad lonely but she's keepin on keepin on.

"How tall are you?"

5'7

In the US that's pretty short for a model. The taller the better in america.
But here they don't care. There are models shorter than me here. In fact, they don't accept super tall models.

"Do you get free stuff?"

I get this question a lot and I understand where it comes from, but it's kinda silly.
I mean as the model, we're actually at the bottom of the food chain. Unless you're Tyra Banks or something.
We are working to please the client. We have to suck up to the client and make them like us. They're paying us.
Why would they give me free clothes for modeling them?
That'd be like if you worked at a grocery store and expected every person you bagged groceries for to give you their food. (I mean it'd be the best job ever but you know what I'm saying)
So no, we don't get free stuff. Once in a while if the client likes you a lot they'll give you a jacket or a pair of shoes but thats pretty rare.

Lets Elaborate

Someone asked me to elaborate on castings and booking jobs and how it works (:

Weelll hm.
I feel like we (me and the other models) are "on call models", like we don't have much of a schedule but we'll get a call and the agency will say, "Be down here in 10 minutes with full makeup you have 8 castings".
Thats the worst part for me. We have no information. Is it a sports wear casting? Fashion? Electronic? Underwear? We have no idea. I learned to not ask questions. Just go with it.
Castings are rarely fun. It's a lot of pressure. Sometimes it will be a room full of models from different agencies and you have to wait around forever. Then finally its your agencies turn. They look at your comp cards and if they don't like your look, you know. Because you're asked to wait in the hall. Awkwarddd.
Maybe they take pictures or just want you to pose right there on the spot. Maybe you try on clothes.
Other times its a really small casting with just models from your agency.

Jobs are pretty straight forward. When you book a job its either a half day or a full day.
We get a lot of jobs for golf wear (I guess golf is big in korea). Underwear is also really big this season. But those jobs are so annoying. Sometimes at underwear castings I purposely do awkward poses so I won't get the job....
Fur wear jobs are fun. Because they have these big fur coats and there's so many poses you can do with big jackets and coats.
Athletic wear is common. Those are fun.
Catalogue jobs are boring a'f because you just do the same stupid pose in 50 different shirts.

A booker (agent) always comes with us to each job to translate what the client wants.
Which is usually a concept. Other than a concept you don't get much direction. Just try stuff and if they don't like it they'll all start violently speaking korean and you change what you're doing.

I've learned so much here about posing and modeling. Asian posing is reallly different from american posing. But the most interesting thing so far about being here is the people and the culture and the change. Modeling is awesome but for me it comes second to the experience I'm having here.

Hope this is what you were asking about!(:

Model Diet... sike

I've never actually met a model that is on an eating diet.
I'm sure there are, but its not as popular amongst models as most people think.
Some people ask me if my agency tells me to eat healthy or limits junk food.
Let's just say the model van is a VIP member of Mc Donalds. Literally. We have a sticker and everything. Free coke with every purchase.
ANYWAYS.
Here's stuff we eat.

FROZEN BANANAS- If you open our freezer, you will find hundreds of plastic bags with frozen bananas in them. Seriously try it.

FROZEN YOGURT- Notice a pattern here? We just take foods, put them in the freezer and see what happens.

WATER- So so so much water. Water is life.

COFFEE- Instant coffee, over priced coffee, lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, macchiatos, iced coffees, hot coffees, frappuccinos everyday all the time.

EGGS- We are too lazy to cook so we just make scrambled eggs everyday.

POPCORN- We play bruno mars and pop popcorn. From the pan. Not the microwave shit. We're too classy for that.

MICROWAVE MEALS- Okay well this is a struggle. I'm positive I never make them right because the directions are in korean so you kinda have to guess.

TOAST- Lots of toast. I force others to make it for me because people laugh when I scream because the toast pops up out of the toaster:(

SUSHI- We all love love love sushi and there is this AMAZING sushi restaurant across the street. We are bestfriends with the owner, they love us<3

COSTCO PIZZA- Yes they have costco in korea. We don't actually have a costco card so we have to sneak in. Its a big deal. One of us has to distract the entrance person and we have to go though the parking lot and ride the elevator like 5 times. Anything for pizza.

COOKIES & CHOCOLATE- "Do you want anything from the supermarket?" I hear this 300 times a day. Two people will go out at a time to get random shit and buy anyone anything you ask them for. Which is always cookies or chocolate. Or coffee. (You have to pay them back of course) (Or we have a trading system but that gets complicated)

HI CHEWS- I don't know if thats actually what they're called. But its what we call them. The most addictive candy on this plant. Kinda like starbursts. Only waywayway better.

ICE CREAM- Every night at like 12:30 we all crave ice cream and as a herd of foreigners we walk (usually dance) to the super market in our pajamas and buy ice cream. The ice cream cones here are so good you don't understand.

So as you can see its a very healthy lifestyle.....
lolnot, but this is just the stuff we have in the apartment. We go out to eat a lot too(:
I just blogged about food.

Things Ben Says-

Not to turn this in to some kind of gossip blog.
But I know only my friends read this so WHATEVER
My agency has a model that lives here in Korea, he lives with his girlfriend and goes to some castings with us. His name is Ben and he's like 28 or something.
He's quite the... interesting character. Anyways he hates me because I'm the only one who doesn't take the bullshit he says seriously.
I put together a lovely list of quotes

1.) "My posing was way off in there. The clothes just didn't inspire me"
2.) Me: *Offers him a mint* Ben: "Oh no. Too many calories"
3.) Me: *Eats an almond* Ben: "You really should be more careful with your diet"
4.) "PLEASE STOP TALKING I'M GETTING IN MY ZONE"
5.) "Damn I look good"
6.) "Underwear jobs are my forte"
7.) *Constantly mumbles to himself*
8.) *Constantly checks himself out in every mirror, makes seductive faces and winks at himself*
9.) "I'm so ready for swimsuit season. Have you seen my abs?"
10.) "pleasestoptalking pleasestoptalking pleasestoptalking I'm a professional and I need to warmup my posing in peace"

God bless.

Tourist for a day

Me and my ex roommate Claire went to this cute little stream place before she left to go back to france.
The place has a name but its Korean and confusing and I can't remember.

I saw this when I got off the subway. Its a restaurant patio. The umbrellas are attached to clear stings horizontally. Idk its cool.

There were so many cute couples under this bridge it was seriously the most depressing thing.

Final Roommate Count

I share a bedroom with:
Bambi form Poland (19)
Kaira from Brazil (20)
Christina from Spain (19)

Others in my apartment, but not my bedroom:
Laura from Australia (19)
Maddi from Australia (21)
Borja from Spain (idk)

Girls in other apartment:
Regina from Belarus (22)
Sevta from Russia (19)

NEWEST ROOMATE: Borja from Spain (Yes he is a male) I don't know his age, I think he's 20ish.
He came this morning, I only saw him once when I introduced myself but he seems nice.
There MIGHT be another guy coming later in the month.

I'll get a group picture this week so you can see everybody(:

Lina Leaves

Lina left to go back to Russia yesterday.
The agency sent her back because her mother agency lied about her hight. She was not very tall. Also she wasn't getting jobs and clients complained that she had a scar on her forehead.
I'll miss her a lot:(

SHOUT OUT

Shout out the the only people who read this blog, my incredible SWPT<3
I love you guys sooo much and I still can't believe you're all at camp without me:'(
Its actually killing me. Today at a casting, I was posing and "PHONE HOME WHEEZY" popped into my head and I did this really gross awkward laugh.
...
I probably got the job. ;)
Now get ready for the cheese because here it comes. Being so distant from y'all makes me realize more than ever how much I need you guys.
You're the only thing that keeps me from being fat. And that's all you're good for.
Lol guys I'm jk.
You actually keep me sane. I miss singing during stretching and making weird noises after I fall out of my turns and eating apples during water breaks taking forever to put my tennis shoes on and cheating on arm circles during conditioning. lolwaitwhatwhosaidthat.
I MISS PRETTY LITTLE LIARS HELP THEY DON'T HAVE IT HERE IF ANYONE TELLS ME ANYTHING THEY WILL BE HANGED.
xoxox<3
Anyways. I hope you're all having an AMAZING time. Don't worry, I talk about you guys a lot. All the girls know I'm on dance team. They're like "Is your team good?" And I be like.
"UH. UM. Well we came second in state last year. I mean we would have won, but South Highschool beat us"
And then I laugh to myself for days.
omg yesterday we went to mc Donald's (we some classy models) and "Jitterbug" was playing. I was using french fries to mark kicks.
Lastly, I'm sorry for leaving you guys. I feel like I let you down and I'm truly sorry for not being there.
I promise I'll know all the sidelines and choreography when I get back<3  (Maura, I'm practicing the sideline we made daily as well hahaha)
MAURA I MISS MY SIDEKICK a day without you is like a year without rain.
But every storm runs, runs out of rain. And it will when I come hoommme.
S/O to lil maddy for reminding me of a little corn bread
S/O to grace for being ratchet
S/O to captains for being bomb
S/O to dare for pronouncing Lana del rey's name wrong.
Wow this was longer than necessary but I can't help it. BYE HAVE A GREAT TIME AT CAMP PRETEND I'M THERE JUST LIKE TAKE ALL THE FOOD THAT I WOULD PROBABLY EAT AND SAVE IT FOR ME IN A PLASTIC BAG TO EAT WHEN I GET BACK.
PS: I have a surprise for you guys, I hope it will be finished while you're still at camp. But it will probs be late because... thats how I roll.
I'll kill ya.

VAN OF HELL

You know how I said we go to castings in a van?
That was all fine and dandy until 953882852 more models came.
Now I'm thinking we need a small bus.
Ivy
Maddy
Laura
Borja
Ben
Bambi
Regina
Sveta
Kayra
Christina
And two bookers pile in.
The agency says whoever gets to the van first in the morning gets to pick whatever spot they want.
If you know me... you know that a have a small tendency to be very... not on time. So I usually get the worst spot in the back.
It's crazy because we're all in dresses and 5 inch heels climbing over seats and racing for who gets a good spot.

Update

I didn't move!
My mother agency (Ignite) Talked to my korean agency (MDI) and said that my mother did not give permission for the move.
Lina moved to the new apartment with 2 of the new Russain girls; Regina & Sveta.
But Lina says she wishes I would have came<3

Lina

The day Lina (the Russian girl who speaks little english) came, she told me that tomorrow would be her and her boyfriends 1 year anniversary.
The next day, her boyfriend broke up with her
The day after, she found out that her two best friends died drowning
The day after that, her mom told her that her brother left for the army.

I told her it's okay to cry,
She said, "We are supermodels. Supermodels do not cry."

Moving Apartments

Okay I'm just going to take a moment to rant.
Yesterday Lina came. She's 15 years old. Lina is Russian and doesn't speak much english. We have a very hard time communicating, but we still have fun together, we use google translate and laugh and it's a great time.
My agency wants me and Lina to move into a different apartment and live a lone together to make room for new models coming.

1.) I've been here for over a week and a half and am starting to feel very at home. I am good friends with my roommates, I have all my clothes in closets, pictures on the walls, and I don't want to move.
2.) Me and Lina are both 15. Why would they want the youngest & most vulnerable living alone?
3.) WE DON'T SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE. She doesn't understand 90% of what I say. It's already hard to be away from my family and friends, and now I can't even talk to the person I'm living with?
4.) In a week there are more Russian girls coming. Lina wants to live with them. Why can't Lina live with the new russian girls in the new apartment?

The agency thinks we will be safer at the other apartment because we won't be around the older girls who go clubbing on the weekends. But I think its more dangerous for us to be living alone. Plus, the older girls who go clubbing never bring alcohol home. They never tell me to come clubbing with them, they aren't crazy party animals. They are adults who go out and have fun on weekends. And I don't mind staying at the apartment.
The agency wants me to move by friday... no thanks.

Golf Casting:

Today we went to a casting for golf wear. It was about an hour and a half drive. I seriously should start bringing a blanket and pillow in the car. Not that I'd get any sleep anyways with music blasting and Brian (One of our bookers) singing 'catch my breath' by Kelly Clarkson really annoyingly.

So we finally got there and it was un-like any casting I'd been to before. It was a lot more serious. It was in a business room with a long rectangle table and chairs set up all around it.

Each model took a seat along the table and put their book out in front of them while ladies from the company walked down the table and looked at us one by one, silently. You could tell there was one lady that was the boss, because she stood in the middle and all the other women acted like her minions.

Eventually they got to me and the boss lady whispered something in korean to the other women. Then they all started talking in korean loudly while gesturing towards me and one of the ladies gasped. They all looked really surprised and shocked.

I have no idea what they were saying.
I've decided I need to learn korean. Now.

On the Daily

I thought I'd explain what I do everyday because that seems like something people would blog about.
So every night at like 10:00pm all the models get a text from the agency with the next days schedule. Pickup is usually between 8:00ish and 12:00ish.

Since I'm not used to the time difference (We are 14 hours ahead here), I wake up at like 7:00am.
We all get ready and dress stylishly to go to castings. Then we walk around the city and get coffee.
When it's time, we meet one of our bookers at the van. We use the same van everyday to drive to castings.

Have you ever gone to a nail salon, and these asian ladies are doing your nails and they're speaking a different language and you know they're talking about you but you don't know what they're saying? Castings are like that times 19485753892484752.
We just stand there with our portfolios while they stare at us and talk in korean while they gesture towards us and make weird facial expressions.

Castings are usually in studios so after they stare at us, we individually go up to the lighting set to get our pictures taken. Some castings want you in swimsuits or bra & underwear.
You stand on the "x", and go.
Just pose. And hold it until you hear the camera shutter.
CHINK CHINK CHINK CHINK CHINK
The photographer goes really fast so you have about one second to come up with a new pose.
Luckily we have poses memorized. There is a pattern of feet work and arm work that you can mix and match.

After castings we go shopping and get more coffee, or go back to the apartment where we are free to do whatever. The other girls go clubbing a lot but I can't because I'm a bby. Or at least thats what they tell me.
Sometimes we chill with our bookers in the office or take some snapshots, practice posing.... etc.

For dinner I go out with the gals to where ever we feel like going.
THEN WE GO TO SLEEP AND DO IT ALL THE NEXT DAY

This is Maddy! My australian friend whom I share my room with. She's out right now so I just used a picture from her portfolio. She's too bomb. All my roommates are really sweet. We go out to eat every day and they show me the shops. We're also constantly making coffee runs (like four a day) and we go to every casting together.
There is Laura who is from australia
And Claire who is from France.
Claire is great but her accent is so heavy, I can barley understand her. I'm constantly making her repeat stuff she just said and I'm seriously considering telling her that I'm deaf in one ear.
There are more models coming this month. A LOT more. Like 6. And we live in only a 3 bedroom apartment. So thats going to suck. But also exciting because there is a girl coming from Russia who is my age.
This is Korean money, its got some cute bearded old guys on it. #Winning
The Korean currency is called WON.
And its never plural. So you say like, I have 1,000 won.
1,000 won is basically one dollar in america.
5,000 is five dollars
10,000 is ten dollars... etc.
The agency gives each model 85,000 won as "Pocket money" every week.
So 85 dollars for food and shopping and whatever we need.
This sounds bad but spending money is so easy with won because I feel like I'm using monopoly money or something.
It also freaks me out because I forget that the currency is different. So a sandwich will be like 5,000 won and I'll be like HELL NO THAT SHIT OVER PRICED. But then I realize its just 5 dollars.
Here are more of the pictures. I tried to make it a heart but it just looks like a blob oops
Top left: Korean milk I bought idk
Top right: Mini washing machine that is in the kitchen for some reason
Bottom leftt: OODLE NOODLE. The best Asian food in the world.
Bottom right: Korea has a different outlet shape than the US. I needed to buy a weird adaptor thing to plug anything in. Fun fact.
This is my portfolio book. I bring it to every casting, to show the client.
It's full of the agency's favorite pictures of me.
To the right are my comp cards. Its just a piece of paper with pictures on it, along with my measurements. Theres a ton of them, and if the client is interested in me, they take a comp card to keep so they can remember me. Or decide if they want to use me.
Heres a close up of the pictures, in case you're in some. Or something.
I hung up pictures under my bunk-bed that I had printed out back home.
The total ended up being 69 photos...
Not on purpose.

PLANE RIDE
15 hours.
I actually don't mind long car rides or plane rides, so it wasn't that bad.
But first I got on a plane to Chicago, and while I was finding the right gate for my flight to Korea, I noticed there was a lady walking the same way as me. So I asked her if she was going to Korea and she was.
We talked for awhile and she was super sweet. I love nice strangers. That aren't creepy.
But yeah we got to know each other and it was good to feel like I knew someone.

The guy I sat next to on the plane was an odd one. He mumbled everything he said and said he was going to visit his fiance who he met online and has seen 4 times before...
He also told me that I should be drinking diet soda if I'm a model. Okay.

I just slept and listened to music and watched movies. And they fed us meals which was exciting.
Then when I got off the plane, the lady from before was waiting for me.
She gave me a letter that she had wrote me during the plane ride. The end of the letter said "I'm so excited for you and your big adventure! You're sure to learn a lot. Know that I'm thinking of you, rooting for you, and praying for you. If you ever need to talk to someone I'm here!"
It was soo adorable. <3

wow how do you end these things.?
That was my plane ride goodbye peace
